Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh): A 35-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday evening, police said.
During the investigation, police arrested a 28-year-old man, who confessed he had killed Robin for allegedly having an illicit relationship with his wife and harassing her over the phone, an officer said.
The body was recovered in Khatauli town and sent for post-mortem, the officer said.
Meanwhile, an old woman jumped into a canal under Bhopa police station area. She was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital where she declared dead, according to police.

The body has not been identified yet and was sent for post-mortem, police said.
Earlier, on November 3, a father and son in Uttar Pradesh were allegedly shot dead by their neighbours with their licensed Double Barrel Breech Loading (DBBL) gun over a petty dispute in Pratapgarh district. The accused fled after committing the crime.
Similarly, a property dealer and Block Development Council (BDC) member was shot dead by unknown assailants who came in a Scorpio car in Lucknow.
Vijay Pratap who was out for a walk was shot multiple times and the killers also tried to run over him. A large crowd gathered at the spot and police have been deployed there.
