Man attempts suicide in protest against KSEB, dies

A man had attempted suicide over electricity being disconnected at his house. The man — Sanal, a native of Neyyatinkara died at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on Wednesday.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): A man who attempted suicide disappointed over electric power disconnection at his home, died at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Sanal, a native of Neyyatinkara.

He attempted suicide on Tuesday evening alleging that Kerala State Electricity Board disconnected power connection to his house due to the intervention of the panchayat president.

Meanwhile, Panchayat President S. Surendran dismissed the allegations and said there were no problems with Sanal. KSEB authority claimed that they disconnected power to over 10 houses in a region due to non-payment of bills.
