Chennai:The Madras High Court on Tuesday came down heavily on the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) over the severe waterlogging in the city due to incessant rains and asked 'what the authorities were doing post-2015 floods?'
"For half of the year, we are made to cry for water (apparently due to shortage) and for another half we are made to die in water," the court said while entertaining a PIL petition on encroachments on public roads. "Despite plans worth crores of rupees for development, no adequate measures have been taken to prevent inundation in the city during rains," the court further said.
