New Delhi:Social worker and Chairman of All India Muslim Women's Personal Law Board (AIMWPLB), Shaista Amber on Thursday stating the meaning of the word 'jihad' termed 'love jihad' bill against the soul of the constitution.
In a statement, Amber objected to the bill saying that it is the duty of all citizens to safeguard the Constitution of India and protect the Indian culture, however passing the 'love jihad' bill sends a wrong message in the county.
"If any leader or citizen marries outside their religion, will it be considered love jihad," Amber asked.
She added that people need to understand the true meaning of the word 'jihad' and said, a mother conceiving a baby and doing everything for it selflessly, a father earning an honest income for the family, soldiers working day and night to protect the people and government is what jihad is.
