Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress leader in Lok Sabha on suspension of MPs New Delhi:As many as 33 opposition members were suspended from the Lok Sabha on Monday, including Congress leader in the House Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, DMK MPs T R Baalu and Dayanidhi Maran, and TMC's Saugata Roy for 'disrupting' the house proceedings. Shortly afterwards, Rajya Sabha acted similarly and suspended 45 of its members for similar reasons.
On his suspension, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "All leaders, including me, have been suspended. We have been demanding for days to reinstate our MPs who were suspended earlier and that the Home Minister come to the House and give a statement. He gives statements to the TV every day and he can speak a little in the Parliament too regarding what is being done by the Government for the security of the Parliament...Today's Government has reached the heights of tyranny...BJP wants to turn Parliament into its party office. That cannot happen."
While 30 of those in Lok Sabha were suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session, three were suspended pending the report of the Privileges Committee. The three -- K Jayakumar, Vijay Vasanth and Abdul Khaleque -- had climbed onto the Speaker's podium to raise slogans.
The latest round of suspension comes after 13 Opposition MPs were suspended last week. As such, a total of 92 Members -- 46 in each house of Parliament-- have been suspended for disrupting proceedings over the December 13 Parliament security breach.
After being named by the Chair, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi moved a motion regarding the suspension and it was adopted by a voice vote. The House was then adjourned for the day.

Sumathy (A) Thamizhachi Thangapandian, K Navas Kani, N K Premachandran, Satabdi Roy, Prof. Souata Ray, Kaushalendra Kumar, Anto Antony, S S Planimanickam, Pratima Mondal, Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, K Muraleedharan, Sunil Kumar Mondal, Sellaperumal Ramalingam, Suresh Kodikunnil, Dr Amar Singh, Thalikkottai Rajuthevar Baalu, Su.
