As soon as the proceedings resumed at 6 PM, the Opposition MPs continued raising slogans against the three contentious farm laws, following which Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House till 4 PM on February 8.

The Health Minister said that a total of 22 nations have asked for COVID vaccines from India, and that 15 of them have already received doses.

Five million people vaccinated till now: Health Minister

Replying to a query from Jagdambika Pal, the Health Minister said that about five million people have been vaccinated, and that the vaccination of frontline workers has also begun this week. Two vaccines have so far been given permission for emergency use. Work is underway on seven more vaccine candidates, the minister said.

Rs 35,000 cr for vaccination: Health Minister

"In the Union Budget, Rs 35,000 crore has been allocated for vaccination and saving people's lives. The Minister has also said that the amount will be increased if needed," Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan told the Lok Sabha.

The proceedings in the House once again began amid constant sloganeering by the Opposition members against the three contentious farm laws.
