LJP’s Pashupati Paras seeks ‘Z Plus’ security citing life threats

Union Minister and LJP National President Pashupati Kumar Paras, has sought 'Z plus' security claiming that his life was at threat citing recent experiences during his Bihar trip.

New Delhi:Union Minister and LJP National President Pashupati Kumar Paras, who claimed that his life was at threat requested the Central government that he should be provided Z+ security, the highest level of security accorded to an individual by the government.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Paras said, " I have to go out of Delhi many times in connection with the work of the party and the ministry. At the same time, there is a squabble within his party over the change of leadership."

Referring to his recently concluded tour of Bihar, the minister said he was attacked by some anti-social elements and his security was unable to thwart that attack.

Paras said he had been receiving abuses and threats on his personal mobile phone. He has lodged an FIR at the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi. According to him, his Patna office was shot at by anti-social elements on June 17.

On August 25, my party leader Keshav Singh was abused and threatened. In the past, miscreants attempted to attack my guesthouse in Khagaria, Bihar with dynamite, he said.

Paras who is enjoys Y security in Bihar, felt that his present security is not enough in the backdrop of recent events, and that he has written to Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting Z+ security.

Paras had visited Hajipur in Bihar on August 23, where his cavalcade was shown black flags by a group of people and a woman also threw ink at him.

Paras is involved in a messy battle with his nephew and MP Chirag Paswan over the leadership of the Lok Janshakti Party after five of its six MPs replaced the young leader with him as their leader in Lok Sabha.
