"At the time of emergency Supreme Court was not performing its duties then the lawyers stood against it. So, in my opinion, there must be a protest. Why aren't they opening the courts, why aren't they hearing important cases," said Prashant Bhushan during a press conference at the Press Club of India today.

Supporting Bhushan, Justice B.G. Kolse Patil, former Judge, Bombay High Court, said, "I don't know why are people so scared now. Look at how we have handled the farmers' issue."

Advocate Mehmood Pracha said the points of four Supreme Court judges have now widened. The focus is now more on the court. We are aiming to have voices from all across the nation to pursue the Supreme Court.

Advocate Bhushan, Senior advocates Chander Uday Singh and Kolse Patel on Wednesday held a press conference to express anguish against the raid conducted by Delhi Police at the office of lawyer Mehmood Pracha, who has been a defence lawyer of several persons accused in Delhi riots.

Terming the Delhi Police raids "malafide", Bhushan questioned that how can a search order be passed by a judge for searching the residence of a lawyer? How was all the computer data taken?

It is to be mentioned here that the Delhi Police on December 24 last year, had conducted a raid at the residence and office of Mehmood Pracha. Delhi Police alleged that Pracha had sent e-mails annexing a complaint of one Sharif Malik to various authorities through his e-mail Id. However, the police alleged that the complaint was fabricated.
