Patna: Ailing RJD supremo Lalu Prasad was airlifted to Delhi AIIMS on Wednesday evening for advanced treatment. His eldest daughter Misa Bharti who is Rajya Sabha member also accompanied him. Lalu's wife Rabri Devi, younger son Tejashwi Yadav, and daughter-in-law Rajshri Yadav have already left for Delhi in the afternoon. Much before his departure to Delhi, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar visited Paras hospital to see Lalu.
Soon after meeting the former chief minister, Kumar declared that all the expenditure on Lalu's treatment would be borne by the state government. The latter's eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav will fly to Delhi on Thursday. Three doctors of Paras hospital are also accompanying Lalu to brief AIIMS doctors for better assistance and monitoring him while on board. He was admitted to the ICU at Paras for the past three days.
On Sunday, the RJD chief felldown while climbing the stairs at his Circular Road residence, causing him a severe fracture in the right shoulder. Sources in the RJD confirmed that an air ambulance was booked by his family members and the ailing Lalu Prasad was airlifted to Delhi AIIMS for better treatment.
