New Delhi/Ghaziabad:Punjab Police on Wednesday visited the house of former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in Delhi, followed by another visit to Congress leader Alka Lamba's residence. In the subsequent hours, Vishwas was booked by the former for 'inflammatory statements' against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, with the police asking him to present notice supporting his allegations. The case against Bishwas was launched earlier on April 12, in Rupnagar town's Sadar Police Station.

"Punjab Police has arrived at my door early in the morning. I pray to Bhagwant Mann, whom I had introduced to the party, that the person sitting in Delhi you are allowing free access to power the people of Punjab have given you, will one day betray you as well as Punjab. The country should remember my warning", the tweet by Vishwas read.

The visits, as per an official release by the Rupnagar police, were conducted after an AAP supporter reported in a complaint that Vishwas had provided 'inflammatory comments' on channels and social media against Kejriwal, including hurling allegations about the latter having separatist connections. "Similar incidents have been regularly occurring. All this started after Kumar Vishwas gave inflammatory statements against AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on news channels/ social media platforms alleging AAP links with separatist elements," the release quoted the complainant as saying.

Lamba, meanwhile, has been served a summon asking her to be present at the Rupnagar Police Station on 26.04.2022. "Punjab Police has stuck a notice on the wall and while on their way out, has threatened me on behalf of Bhagwant Mann government, that if I do not present myself at the police station on April 26, then the consequences will be dire. This Gandhian soldier was never afraid of big treaties, let alone this milder Sanghi", Lamba said in her tweet.
