Koppal:Taking objection to a Dalit toddler's visit to a temple, people from the upper caste cleansed the temple to "restore its sanctity". They also imposed a monetary penalty on his parents. The incident took place at Miyapur village in Karnataka's Koppal district.

On September 4, a two-year-old boy from Channadasara community was brought to Anjaneya temple for darshan on his birthday. On learning about this incident a few days later, the villagers held a meeting on September 11 and deemed the temple unholy after the toddler's visit. They soon cleansed the temple and imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on the toddler's parents.
