Karnataka is set to ink 12 MOUs with partner countries of Global Innovation Alliance (GIA). More than 25 countries, 15 GIA sessions, 10 minister-level delegates, 60+ GIA speakers, 500+ international delegates will be witness to this flagship event.

Karnataka set to ink 12 MoU's

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Tech Summit-2020 (BTS-2020) which will be held from Nov.19-21, would provide a platform for about 50 startups of India to expand to the European market and the Karnataka would ink 12 MoUs with partner countries of Global Innovation Alliance (GIA), said Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwatha Narayana, who is also the minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T.

He stated this in a press conference on Monday, in presence of representatives of several countries of GIA, those are very keen to showcase their developments in the upcoming event.

Narayana Said, “The Hague Business Agency will launch a “Digital Soft-Landing” program for Indian start-ups, during this year’s BTS. This program will enable some 50 Indian tech start-ups to take their technology to Europe. Holland is the gateway to Europe for goods and services, and for technology as well. In addition to this, two MoU's will be signed in the areas of cybersecurity and Agri-tech, where both sides will be working together on mentorship, honing skills, start-ups, and R&D."

Speaking at the event, Dr E.V. Ramana Reddy, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka said: “This type of international collaboration is absolutely necessary to solve the challenges worldwide, including the current COVID-19 pandemic we are facing.”

H.E. Barry O'Farrell, Australia's High Commissioner to India, Jette Bjerrum, Consul General of Denmark in Bengaluru, Dr Marjorie Vanbaelinghem, Consul General of France in Bengaluru, Achim Burkart, Consul General of Germany in Bengaluru, Jonathan Zadka, Consul General of Israel to South India, Gert Heijkoop, Consul General of The Netherlands for Southern India, Dr Fanny von Heland, Counsellor, Innovation and Science, Embassy of Sweden in India, Sebastien Hug, Consul General of Switzerland in Bengaluru, Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford, UK Deputy High Commissioner in Bengaluru and Maruru, Representative of Japan spoke of their expectation from the event. Smt. Meena Nagara, Director, Karanataka Innovative & Technological Society (KITS) was present.
