Bengaluru (Karnataka): Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai (ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಸವರಾಜ ಬೊಮ್ಮಾಯಿ) has succeeded in persuading Minister Anand Singh (ಸಚಿವ ಆನಂದ್ ಸಿಂಗ್), who had expressed his displeasure for giving him the less lucrative tourism, environment & ecology portfolio. Singh had even dropped hints that he would resign from his post as the minister. In this context, a meeting was held at the residence of Minister R Ashok (ಸಚಿವ ಆರ್ ಅಶೋಕ್), which has turned out to be successful. Following the meeting, Singh announced his decision to continue as the minister.
We are friends: CM Bommai
Speaking after the meeting, CM Bommai said, "I have worked with Anand Singh in the previous government. It is true that he desires for a better portfolio. But it will be decided by the high command and leaders of the party. We have done our best to respond to Singh's feelings. We have made the decision that everyone should agree on what the top brass decides. We have decided to go together."
