The twenty-four-year-old woman basically from Assam is confident of her victory in the upcoming local body election in Kerala. The love and acceptance of her husband's native land set her stride steadfast.
An Assamese woman's stride in Kerala local body polls Spending over six years, the woman from Assam fluently speaks Malayalam and has embraced the culture and tradition in Kerala. Her tryst with Kerala began with her husband Sajeesh's missed call by mistake. A long-distance love story was woven out through phone calls over a year. Sajeesh is a daily wage worker and a BJP supporter. He is a native of Iritty in Kannur district.
Munmi hails from Bohinadi village in Lohipur district of Assam. Mumni's family members are Congress supporters but the woman who ventured out to Kerala views that the state is deprived of the benefits from the Centre, as per reports. The BJP candidate wants to develop her constituency.

BJP leader and actor Suresh Gopi has promised a decent house for her. The BJP party's move by giving Munmi the ticket in Vikas Nagar, a sitting seat of Indian Union of Muslim League (IUML) has grabbed attention.
The local body polls will be conducted in three phases on December 8, 10, and 14 and the vote counting will be on December 16. The election in which 50 % of seats will be contested by women will be the first election held during the COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala, as per reports.
According to reports, a total of 1.29 crore male voters, 1.45 crore women, and 282 transgender persons will vote. The election will be held in 21,865 wards for 1,199 local bodies, including 941-gram panchayats, 152 block panchayats, 14 district panchayats, 86 municipal councils, and six municipal corporations.
