Jharkhand Congress MLAs to meet party high command with their grievances

After a few Congress MLAs in Jharkhand complained that the party's ministers do not adequately address the issues and problems raised by them, party's Rajya Sabha Member Dhiraj Sahu said that concerned MLAs will meet party's high command with their grievances in the national capital.

New Delhi:Amid growing dissent among a section of Congress MLAs in Jharkhand over "non-cooperation by the administration" in their respective constituencies, party's Rajya Sabha Member Dhiraj Sahu said that concerned legislators will put forth their grievances to the high command in New Delhi.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sahu said that Congress is a democratic party and everyone has the right to express his opinion in the party fold. "The party's high command will take the appropriate actions after listening to concerns of MLAs. If the top leadership wishes, the state president and the leaders of the legislature party will be changed," he said.

He further said that the party wants all MLAs to get their due respect and talks are also going on with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on the participation of Congress leaders in the state corporation. "I personally do not want any position. Neither I want to be the state president nor am I in the race for this. Even if the party's high command asks me to take up the role, I will politely refuse saying to give chance to someone else.

I will continue to work independently for the party," he stated. Sahu further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not topple the coalition government in the state and it will definitely complete its tenure of five years. "The BJP will never be able to take the advantage of issues within the Congress party," he claimed.

Earlier, Congress MLAs have complained that the party's ministers do not adequately address the issues and problems raised by them. Congress is part of the ruling JMM-led coalition in Jharkhand. Earlier on Wednesday, Congress MLAs Deepika Pandey Singh, Mamta Devi and Purnima Neeraj Singh met Congress Legislature Party Leader Alamgir Alam and put forward their grievances, following which Alam said that he has assured the leaders that their problems and demands will be taken to the Chief Minister after following the necessary process.
