Srinagar:Militants in Jammu and Kashmir fired at police officials in the Hasanpora Bijbehara area of Anantnag. In Anantnag's Hassan Aruni Bajbhara area, militants opened fire on Jammu and Kashmir Police Selection Grade Constable Ali Muhammad Ganai at close range. As a result, the policeman was seriously injured. Although an attempt was made to take him to a nearby hospital, doctors pronounced him brought dead.

The martyred policeman has been identified as Ali Muhammad Ganai, a resident of Hassanpura. Immediately after the incident, security forces and police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a massive search for the fugitive assailants.
