J-K LG visits Hazratbal shrine; reviews arrangements for Eid

J&K Lieutenant Governor on Thursday visited the Hazratbal shrine to review the arrangements for Eid - ul - Adha. Sinha reviewed the electricity, sanitation and water supply arrangements for the devotees who will be offering their prayers at the shrine. He took to twitter to update his followers about the arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha.

Srinagar (J&K): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid a visit to the Hazratbal shrine, on the banks of the Dal lake in Srinagar, to review the arrangements being made for the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. "Paid obeisance at Dargah Hazratbal. Reviewed the arrangements being made for the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, which teaches us to be kind, and charitable and to work for the greater good of humanity.

Prayed for happiness and prosperity for people of J&K UT," Sinha tweeted from his official Twitter handle. He also asserted that the culture and tradition of Kashmir have always been celebrating festivals of all religions together. "Eid falls on July 10. The earlier chief secretary of the state reviewed arrangements for the festival and today I came with Divisional Commissioner (PK Pole), J&K Waqf Board chairperson (Dr. Darakshan Andrabi), and other officers to review the detailed arrangements made by the administration," Sinha said while speaking to reporters outside the shrine.

"I hope people will be able to offer prayers without any hindrances. Some people are there to disturb the law and order situation but larger society thinks otherwise, " he added. Pertinently, this will be the first Eid-ul-Adha which will be celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with full fervor. There would be no large congregational prayers in 2020 and 2021 owing to the pandemic situation.
