New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress, on Monday, protested against Twitter India over the suspension of the Twitter account of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. This comes after Twitter India "temporarily suspended" Rahul Gandhi's account. However, it later claimed that the account has been "temporarily locked" and it continues to be in service.
Speaking over the matter National President of Indian Youth Congress, Srinivas BV said, "Instead of giving justice to the daughter of a Dalit, the Modi government is conspiring to suppress the voice demanding sympathy and justice. Modi ji will not be able to suppress the voice of justice for the daughter by intimidating Twitter, or by blocking the account of Rahul Gandhi."
He further added, "Let the BJP government understand that there is nothing to fear in fighting for the country, so we will fight and keep fighting. The one who fights for daughters will sting in the eyes of this dictatorial BJP government."
He also asserted that Twitter took action against Rahul Gandhi for sharing the picture of the victim's family whilst a similar picture was also being posted by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes for which no action was taken.
