Thiruvananthapuram:The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has introduced a special tour package from Kerala that includes visits to a host of major attractions along with Ramoji Film City, the largest film studio complex in the world. The 12-day Golden Triangle tour package costs around Rs 23,000 and is part of the Bharat Gaurav tourist train package.
The tour package will cover a slew of places namely Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, Golconda Fort, Tajmahal, Agra Palace, Red Fort, Raj ghat, Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar, Jaipur City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mansil, Goa's Calangute Beach, Vagatore beach and Basilica of Bom Jesus cathedral.
Under the package, the train will depart from Kochuveli and visit Hyderabad, Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Goa and return. Tourists can cover 6475 kms during the trip which will be for a duration of 11 nights and 12 days. The trip will be from May 19 to 30. The train has facilities of both sleeper and three-tier AC berths. The sleeper berths are named standard category and AC berths are the comfort category.
In the standard class, one will be charged Rs 22,900 and the cost goes up to Rs 36,050 in the comfort class. The cost covers accommodation, vegetarian meals and bus travel to tourist destinations. Security personnel will be posted in each compartment. This apart, IRCTC has also provided full insurance coverage for passengers in case of medical assistance. Tourists only have to pay for the entry charges at the tourist centres. Children aged five to 11 years are charged Rs 21,330 in the standard category and Rs 34,160 in the comfort segment.

Tickets can be booked through the IRCTC website. Apart from this, passengers can also buy tickets through the booking counters of IRCTC at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. Around 750 tourists can travel on this service. There are 544 seats in the standard class and 206 in the comfort class.
Ticket booking for the current service has already started. Starting from Kochuveli, passengers can board from Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad Junction, Podannur Junction, Erode Junction and Salem. Similarly, on the return journey, passengers can get off at Kannur, Kozhikode, Shornur, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam and Kollam. IRCTC is preparing to run a special train every month from Thiruvananthapuram Kochuveli as part of the Bharat Gaurav train tour package.
