IMD has also predicted November rains in Kerala and in parts of South India.

While addressing the media, IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said the peninsula is likely to receive 122 per cent rainfall with respect to its long period average (117.5 mm) this month.

"Monthly rainfall for November 2021 over Peninsular India consisting of five meteorological subdivisions (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikkal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala& Mahe and South Interior Karnataka) is most likely to be above normal (>122% of Long Period Average (LPA))," the IMD statement read.
