Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 28,591 infections and 338 fatalities pushed India's COVID-19 tally to 3,32,36,921 cases and 4,42,655 deaths, as per the Union Health Ministry. Statistics updated at 8 am on Sunday showed Kerala alone recorded 20,487 new cases and 181 in the last 24 hours.
The active caseload has declined to 3,84,921 while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.51 per cent, the data showed. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.87 per cent.
The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive have exceeded 73.82 crore, said the provisional report till 7 am on Sunday. More than 5.16 crore balance doses are still available with States/UTs with over 57 lakh doses in the pipeline, the ministry said.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 54,18,05,829 samples were tested up to September 11, of which 15,30,125 samples were tested on Saturday.
