Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 33,376 infections and 308 fatalities pushed India's COVID-19 tally to 3,32,08,330 cases and 4,42,317 deaths, as per the Union Health Ministry.
The active caseload marginally increased to 3,91,516 while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.49 per cent, according to the data updated at 8 am on Saturday. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.10 per cent.
The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive have exceeded 73.05 crore, said the provisional report till 7 am on Saturday. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 54,01,96,989 samples were tested up to September 10, of which 15,92,135 samples were tested on Friday.
Statistics showed Kerala recorded 25,010 new cases and 177 deaths in the last 24 hours. The Chief Minister, while briefing media on Friday, had said only two per cent of the active cases during September 3-9 in the state required oxygen beds and only one per cent got admitted to ICUs. The CM also said the state government aims to complete the first dose of vaccination to all above 18 years by September 30.
