India records 25,072 fresh COVID-19 cases, 389 deaths

India reported 25,072 new COVID-19 cases and 389 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.

Hyderabad:A single-day rise of 25,072 COVID-19 infections, 389 fatalities push India's tally of cases to 3,24,49,306 and death toll to 4,34,756, as per the Union Health Ministry. The number of active cases declined to 3,33,924, according to the data updated at 8am on Monday. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 3,16,80,626.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 50,75,51,399 samples have been tested up to August 22 for COVID-19. Of these, 12,95,160 samples were tested on Sunday. So far, 58,25,49,595 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
