New Delhi: India and China have agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the Western sector, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday. During a weekly press briefing in New Delhi, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "The 17th round of India-China core commander level meeting was held at Chushul Moldo on the Chinese side on December 20. Two sides exchanged views along the LAC in the western sector and in-depth discussions to work on the remaining issues at the earliest".

India and China held a fresh round of high-level military talks on December 20 with a focus on resolving the remaining issues in eastern Ladakh, said MEA spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi on Thursday.
Bagchi informed that the two sides agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the western sector and maintain dialogue through military and diplomatic channels and work out a mutually accepted resolution. Building on the progress made after the last meeting on July 17, 2022, the two sides exchanged views on the resolution of the relevant issues along the LAC. They held discussions keeping in line with the guidance provided by the leaders to work openly and constructively on issues at the earliest, which would help in the restoration of peace and tranquillity along the LAC in the Western Sector and enable progress in bilateral relations.
