  • President Kovind to lay foundation stones of projects in Diu
    President Ram Nath Kovind

President Ram Nath Kovind would offer prayers at Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple and lay foundation stones for various projects in the Union Territory of Diu today.

He will also inaugurate a food court and a memorial dedicated to INS Khukri, a frigate of the Indian Navy that sunk off the coast of Diu, today evening.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will distribute financial grants to 8,000 Namghars (traditional Vaisnavite monasteries of Assam) under the Assam Darshan programme today.

He will also lay foundation stones for the development of 'Batadrava Than' as a cultural and tourist destination, new medical college in Guwahati and nine law colleges to be established across Assam.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress will take out "Gai Bachao Kisan Bachao" padyatra from today in different districts of Bundelkhand region to highlight alleged mismanagement in ''gaushalas'' under the state government.

The six-day long padyatra will start from Saujana Gaushala in Lalitpur district and will culminate at Mandakini river in Chitrakoot district.
