1. Delegation of farmers to meet Agriculture Minister today
A delegation of farmers will meet Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday, said Spokesperson, Bharatiya Kisan Union while adding that all farmer organisations across the country should hit the streets now.
The agitating farmers refused to accept the Centre's proposal to form a committee to discuss the contentious farm laws and said that their only demand is the complete rollback of the three legislations.
2. Punjab CM to meet Amit Shah today over farmers' issue
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today over the issue of farmers' agitation. According to sources, Singh is expected to give his suggestions to ease the ongoing tension with a section of leaders in the Congress Party wary of the turn the agitation may take if prolonged too much.
3. SC to hear on pleas seeking loan moratorium extension today
The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned to Thursday the hearing on the pleas seeking an extension of the loan moratorium period and waiver of interest on interest on term loans in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. A bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, fixed the matter for further hearing today.
