The plight of migrant workers walking to their homes in faraway land was miserable. Many people were willing to help and we coordinated with them, said Sood.

Medical students from Kyrgyzstan called for help and several other students were deported from foreign countries. Ration bags were distributed to about 500 people in distress. 350 migrants were sent to Karnataka for the first time. In total, 7,26,727 migrant workers were relocated to their native place, he added.

During the lockdown, nearly 50 lakh people lost their jobs and we toiled to provide employment to two lakh people. The pandemic has taught us many lessons and left many unforgettable moments, said Sood.

Anup Rubens, music director and singer Smita were also present at the function. Cyberabad CP Sajjanar said that Sonu Sood stood as an ideal for many people by helping migrants during the lockdown. He lauded the efforts of Sonu Sood to help migrant workers reach their homes and provide them with employment.
