New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to grant interim protection to Hindu Raksha Dal leader Bhupendra Tomar alias Pinky Chaudhary, accused of raising inflammatory slogans against a particular religion at Jantar Mantar. Justice Mukta Gupta has issued notice to Delhi Police while hearing the anticipatory bail petition of Pinky Chaudhary.
The Court has set September 13 as the next date of hearing.
On August 23, the Patiala House Court had rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Chaudhary. Additional Sessions Judge Anil Antil said that India is not a Taliban state and the rule of law is the sacrosanct governing principle of our plural and multi-cultural society.
"We are not a Taliban state. Rule of law is the sacrosanct governing principle in our plural and multi-cultural society. While the whole of India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, there are some minds still chained with intolerant and self-centric, beliefs."
