Ahmedabad (Gujarat): In a major operation, Gujarat ATS arrested two accused from Jammu & Kashmir's Baramulla including notorious criminal absconding for the last 15 years. The Gujarat ATS achieved great success against the terror conspiracy in Gujarat. Two accused, who have been absconding for 15 years, have been arrested from Jammu and Kashmir and both are being brought to Ahmedabad, DGP Ashish Bhatia informed the media here on Thursday.
The one nabbed Bilal Aslam Kashmiri is accused of blast in Ahmedabad while the other Mohammad Hussain alias Hussain Ali Dar is accused of smuggling narcotics in Gujarat.
In the year 2006, a blast took place at Kalupur station in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat at midnight and one person was killed. The case was probed to find out if there was a LET module of militants from Kashmir behind the terror attacks. Nine militants were arrested while Bilal Aslam Kashmiri went absconding for the last 15 years.
A team of Gujarat police personnel led by Dipen Bhadran reached Jammu and Kashmir and with help of Jammu and Kashmir Police both the accused were arrested in a joint police operation. The ATS reached Jammu and Kashmir to nab the accused on the basis of social media and technical analysis, Bhatia said.
