Major fire breaks out at godown in Delhi's Okhla Industrial area

A fire broke out at a clothes warehouse located in Harkesh Nagar of south-east Delhi's Okhla industrial area on Friday. The incident took place at 4 am and immediately 17 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. At present, the situation is now under control.

New Delhi: A major blaze engulfed an apparel warehouse located in Harkesh Nagar of the national capital on Friday, at around 4 am, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said, adding that 17 fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately to douse the flames.

"A fire call was received about fire in godown around 3:45 am today. The fire was in cotton, thread and cloths waste inside the basement, ground and first floor. Total 18 fire tenders rushed to the site," an official told ANI.

As of now, the fire department has managed to bring the situation under control. No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the blaze which began in the basement had reached the ground and first floor.
