Rampur (Uttar Pradesh):An FIR was registered against Aziz Qureishi, the former governor of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly making objectionable remarks against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Miniter Yogi Adityanath.
The FIR was registered in the Rampur police station on Sunday based on the complaint of BJP leader Akash Kumar Saxena.
In the complaint, Saxena has alleged that Qureshi had gone to Azam Khan's house to meet Rampur MLA, where he compared the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government to the "devil and blood-sucking monsters".
FIR against former UP governor over his controversial remark Saxena, in his complaint further said, "controversial remark made by Qureshi in the presence of a large crowd can create tension between two communities and even lead to communal riots".
As per the copy of the FIR, Qureshi is booked under sections 124A (Sedition), 153A (Promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, race), 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) and 505(1)(B) (intent to cause fear or alarm among the public) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
