Farmers movement won't impact the elections in five states: BJP leader Dushyant Gautam

BJP's Haryana state in-charge Dushyant Gautam has said that the farmers are now agitating over a political agenda and their movement is not for the farmers of the whole country. He further added that the country's farmers are happy with the Modi government for its welfare schemes.

New Delhi: A Kisan Mahapanchayat is currently undergoing in Karnal, Haryana. The ongoing farmers' movement is also continuously spreading in different states. On this issue, BJP's National General Secretary and Haryana's state in-charge Dushyant Gautam spoke to ETV Bharat. BJP's Haryana state in-charge Dushyant Gautam has said that the farmers are now agitating over a political agenda and their movement is not for the farmers of the whole country. He further added that the country's farmers are happy with the Modi government for its welfare schemes.

Dushyant Gautam has also alleged that the handful of farmers are left in the agitation and protesting deliberately in the BJP ruled states as their agenda has become a political one and not in the interest of farmers. The BJP leader also said that the Mahapanchayat being held is also a part of the political agenda. On the issue of the lathi-charge on farmers in Haryana, the BJP leader said that maintaining the law and order is a necessary step for any government.

He further questioned why farmers are not agitating in Rajasthan and only protesting in the BJP ruled states. He also said that the BJP has won the elections in the local body in Rajasthan. He also added that BJP will win the election even if Rakesh Tikait contests the upcoming UP elections. He is confident that the ongoing movement will not affect the upcoming elections in the five states.
