New Delhi: Expressing concern over the rising incidents of crimes against the Dalits, Vijay Sampla, chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), said the people of the country are going to square one.
Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Vijay Sampla said, "The crime against Dalits is increasing across the country and this not a good sign. On one hand, we are heading towards the 21st century and progressing in all the aspects of life, while on the other side we are becoming week and going mentally backward."
"The great men of our country have taught us to live with love, peace and brotherhood. I appeal to everyone to follow their teachings. Those who are well-qualified and knowledgeable should see that the people from the different walks of life progress equally," he added.
Sampla said as the chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes he was happy over the induction of 12 Dalit leaders in the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that governments and people have now started believing in the capability of Scheduled Caste and so they have given such responsibility.
