DU colleges to start new courses, seats increased after 2 years

The Delhi University’s Academic Council (AC) on Thursday granted permission to colleges to start new courses and increase seats. The decision taken by AC will be placed in the executive council meeting to be held on August 31. The move comes after two years that DU colleges will get new courses and an increase in seats.

New Delhi:The Delhi University’s Academic Council (AC) on Thursday granted permission to colleges to start new courses and increase seats. The decision taken by AC will be placed in the executive council meeting to be held on August 31. The move comes after two years that DU colleges will get new courses and an increase in seats.

In the Academic Council meeting, approval for admissions has been granted to Hansraj College for BA Honors (Music), however, the admission process for the academic session 2021-22 will begin only after a nod from the funding agency. Apart from this, permission to increase seats for the BA program has also been given.

Along with this, approval has also been given to start BA Honors in Hindi Journalism and Mass Communication course. On the other hand, the seats for Sanskrit Honors in Zakir Hussain College have been increased for the current session. Also, permission has been given to start MA English at Vivekananda College. However, for this too, consent is needed from the funding agency.

Even the PGDAV Evening College has been granted approval for BA Honors in English, MA Hindi and M.Com. Similarly, Ramanujan College has been given the approval to start BA Honors in History and Operational Research, while the Deshbandhu College would begin the BA Honors Philosophy course.

The aforementioned approvals for the new course of the Academic Council will be placed in the meeting of the executive council which will be held on August 31. The National Education Policy is going to be implemented in Delhi University from the academic session 2022-23.
