New Delhi: Bihar JDU MP Vijay Manjhi said that the Opposition parties, including Congress, are misleading the farmers on the issue of the three agriculture laws. He said that there is no need for the Central government to withdraw the three farm laws as they are in the interest of the farmers.

In an exclusive interaction with ETV Bharat, the JDU MP said that if the Opposition parties are having any problem with the agriculture laws, they should discuss it in the Parliament but instead they are politicizing the issue. Daring Rahul Gandhi to show his tractor driving skills by driving it with a trolley, Manjhi said that anyone can drive a tractor in forward direction but if Rahul succeeds in driving a tractor with a trolley in reverse, I will accept him as a real farmer, he added.

"Rahul Gandhi will not be termed a farmer supporter by just coming to the Parliament driving a tractor. The opposition party is just showing off that it is standing with the farmers. People have rejected Congress by ending its regime. No one takes it seriously," he said. Talking about the farm laws, he said that most of the farmers are standing with the Central government on agricultural laws. Only a few people are protesting against it.

"JDU stands firmly in support of the three agricultural laws and we will support the government on this issue. The Centre should not withdraw the laws," he added. Notably, Opposition parties are creating a ruckus in the Parliament on the issue of agriculture laws following which the proceedings of the house have been disrupted. On the other hand, farmers unions have been protesting against these laws for eight months at the Delhi borders. Farmers' organisations have also organised 'Kisan Sansad' at Jantar Mantar.

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament by driving a tractor in support of farmers. Demanding the Central government to repeal the farm laws immediately, the opposition parties also alleged that the Centre has brought this bill to benefit some industrialists. The government has said that it is ready to find a solution to the issue through talks with the farmers.
