Woman claims police asked bribe to find daughter

A policeman in Uttar Pradesh has been accused of demanding bribe by a specially-abled woman when she wanted help to trace her missing daughter.

Kanpur: A specially-abled woman has accused a policeman of demanding bribe to trace her 15-year-old daughter who has been missing for a month. She said the policeman demanded Rs 2000 from her for diesel many times, as per the allegation.

The girl has not been found yet. The incident came into light as the woman complained to SSP and a probe was ordered.

As per the FIR, 2000 rupees was demanded from the woman many times.

The woman said her daughter was kidnapped one month ago and no action has been taken. Nobody has been arrested yet.

Officials said that SSP has ordered immediate action in the case and directed the police to find her daughter. Stringent action would be sought against policemen if found guilty as per the woman's allegation.
