New Delhi:An under-construction warehouse collapsed killing at least six labourers in Delhi's Alipur area on Friday. According to Delhi Fire Department officials, 20 to 25 workers were at the site when the mishap took place. Many more are afraid to be buried under the rubble. According to eyewitnesses, the police and fire brigade rescued 11 people from the debris. The wounded have been hospitalised at Raja Harishchandra Hospital in the city.

At around 1 pm, a call regarding the warehouse collapse was received from Alipur's Bakoli village. Four fire engines were deployed at the spot. Soon after reaching, fire department personnel started clearing out debris. At least 20 people are believed to be buried under the rubble, according to Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the family of the deceased.

"Anguished by the mishap in Alipur, Delhi. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those who are injured recover at the earliest," a tweet by the PMO read.
