Delhi teacher makes Guinness World Record playing sitar

It is everyone's dream to enter the Guinness World Records. For this, people work hard throughout their life. Now, a teacher of a government school in Delhi he has got his name in the Guinness World Records. He has achieved this feat in the field of music.

New Delhi: When a teacher of a government school in Delhi sat on a stage August 23 to play the sitar, little could have one known that by the afternoon of the next day, his name would find a place in the Guinness Wolrd Records.

We are talking about music teacher and sitar player Rajkumar. He has entered the Guinness World Records by playing the sitar continuously for 30 hours.

Music teacher Rajkumar of Delhi has entered the Guinness World Records by playing the sitar continuously for 30 hours.

Rajkumar is working as a music teacher in Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya in Dwarka. Though sitar is one of his favourite instruments, he could not have ever dreamed that this hobby of his will make him achieve a world record one day.

Rajkumar started playing the sitar on August 23 at 8 am. He chose the School of Specialised Education in Dwarka as the venue for his recital. He got his name registered in the Guinness World Records by playing the sitar continuously for 30 hours till 2 pm August 24. For this, Guinness officials were present online. Earlier, Radhakrishnan Manoharan of Kerala had made it to Guinness World Records in October 2017 by playing the sitar for 29 hours and eight minutes.

Sitar is one of the most popular musical instruments in India. Starting from classical music, it is used in all forms of music. Sitar is a completely Indian instrument, as it has all the three characteristics of Indian music.
