New Delhi:TheDelhi High Court will today hear a petition challenging the Delhi Development Authority's notification to give 45 days to invite suggestions and objections for Delhi Master Plan 2041 from residents. The plea sought direction from DDA to provide 90 days for filing suggestions.
A bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel will hear the matter. Earlier on July 23, the court had issued a notice to the DDA and had refused to stay the notification. The matter was then slated for August 31 for further hearing.
The petitioner, National Hawker Federation through lawyer Anuradha Singh had sought the HC's direction to quash the public notification which was issued on June 9 by the DDA, citing that it ultra vires of the Delhi Development (Master Plan and Zonal Development Plan) Rules, 1959 and Article 14 & 21 of the Constitution of India. In the petition, it was demanded that the DDA should give 90 days time as per the rules to invite suggestions and objections.
