Death toll rises to four in Bengaluru boiler blast

Death toll in boiler blast at MM Food Street Factory, Magadi road in Bengaluru rose to four as two victims succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday.

Bengaluru:Death toll in boiler blast which happened on Monday at MM Food Street Factory, Magadi road in Bengaluru rose to four as two victims succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday. The four deceased have been identified as Sachin, partner of the factory, Dhanalakshmi, employee, Manish and Saurabh, migrants from Bihar.

Even though Sachin and Dhanalakshmi were admitted to Victoria hospital, they did not respond to treatment. Manish and Saurabh died on the spot. Another victim, Shanthi is critically admitted to hospital. The preliminary investigation found out that the temperature rise in the boiler led to the explosion. Sources said an investigation report on the cause of the boiler explosion will be submitted shortly by police.

Reports said the factory was operating in a single-storey building with asbestos sheets. Snacks such as 'sev' and 'chakli' were prepared at the factory. About 15 LPG cylinders were there inside the building, but they remained immobile, as per police.
