Hyderabad: Depression over North East Arabian Sea, remnants of Cyclone Gulab, is moving away from Gujarat coast and hence will not hit the Indian coast, according to India Meteorological department.
In an earlier forecast, the IMD said he pressure created by cyclone Gulab was likely to form a new cyclone named 'Shaheen' over the northeast Arabian Sea from October 1 morning, bringing heavy to very heavy rain in Saurashtra, Gujarat and Konkan region.
"The low-pressure area created due to Cyclone Storm Gulab is now in the Gujarat coast, Northeast Arabian sea and will intensify into a Depression by Sept 30. From October 1, it will become a new cyclone named 'Shaheen," ANI quoted RK Jenamani, senior scientist, IMD.
