Hyderabad:Amid the steep rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Telangana High Court on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the measures adopted by the state government to arrest the spread of the deadly virus. It also directed the K. Chandrashekar Rao led-government to take a final call on imposing a night curfew or weekend lockdown within the next 48 hours.
The High Court warned the government to decide within the granted time frame, else "the court will be forced to pass orders". It asked why the government has not taken any steps to curtail election rallies, cinema halls and shopping malls that attract thousands of people at a time.
Earlier, the High Court pulled up the state government for its poor COVID-19 testing strategy and also directed to reply with the measures if the situation got worsened in the state.
