COVID-19: India logs 26,727 fresh cases, 277 deaths

India saw a single-day rise of 26,727 new COVID-19 infections, taking the country's total tally of cases to 3,37,66,707, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

New Delhi:India saw a single-day rise of 26,727 new COVID-19 infections, taking the country's total tally of cases to 3,37,66,707, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. The death toll climbed to 4,48,339 with 277 daily fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.

Of these, 15,914 cases and 122 deaths were recorded from Kerala alone.

The active cases are 2,75,224. As many as 3,30,43,144 people have recovered so far, the ministry said.

As many as 89.02 crore (89,02,08,007) jabs have been administered so far with 64,40,451 being inoculated in the last 24 hours. A total of 57,04,77,338 samples have been collected for testing as of September 30, of which 15,20,899 samples were taken yesterday.
