Anantapur (AP): Quite often policemen may have rugged looks, but what we tend to overlook is their other side. In a show of humanity, Venkatesh, a constable who works as a constable in a police station close to the Kasapuram Anjaneyaswamy Temple in the district, along with his spouse provide home-cooked food to over 350 stray dogs. What's even more, is the duo has been doing the service for nearly 22-years.
The couple is so fond of canines that they are unable to bear the sight of these animals starving. They have converted a room in their house into a full-fledged kitchen to cook food for the strays.

The constable's wife, Jayamma, with the help of another assistant, cooks biryani for these dogs on a daily basis. After the cooking is done, the couple then go on their two-wheeler and feed the dogs. They spend nearly Rs. 30,000 monthly from their earnings.
