Thiruvananthapuram:Kerala's main opposition party has now decided to get proactive in documenting "actual" Covid deaths in the state, and will appoint an expert agency for this purpose.
Based on its preliminary observation in July, the Congress party had said that around 21,000 Covid deaths have not been included while the Kerala government announced a total tally of 15,025 total Covid deaths on July 16. The party also said that despite promises by state Health Minister Veena George of revising the list, that has not happened. As of date, the total Covid death toll, according to the Kerala government, is 24,191.
Congress state chief K. Sudhakaran is determined to expose how Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his team had utilised Covid to their advantage in the April 6 Assembly elections to retain power.
