Kozhikode:Sister Jofi will have to keep aside prayers of compassion and empathy, that she vowed to follow while accepting the nunhood, for the time being, and pick up a gun to shoot the wild boars that raid the farm at her convent. Sister Jofi is one among several people whom the Kerala High Court has given permission to shoot the boars in order to protect the farm produce.
Following an appeal, the Kerala High Court recently permitted 13 petitioners from Kozhikode and Wayanad districts, including Sister Jofi, to shoot wild boars that raid their farmlands. She approached the High Court when the farmland of the convent where she serves at was continuously damaged by wild boars. She approached the court through the 'V Farm' agriculture organisation.
