Centre hold mega tourism event to promote touristry in valley

The Ministry of Tourism organized a mega tourism promotion event in Srinagar "Tapping the Potential of Kashmir: Another Day in Paradise" from April 11-13. The objective of the event is to showcase the myriad tourism products of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and promote tourism.

Srinagar:To promote tourism in Kashmir, a three-day event is jointly organized by the Central Tourism Department and the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department on Monday in which people associated with central tourism and local tourism participated.

During the three-day event, various entertainment events are being organized at KSK ICC, Srinagar, as well as consultations with tourism professionals. The event was inaugurated by Basir Khan, Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at SK ICC.

During the function, officials and individuals associated with tourism presented their suggestions for the promotion of tourism in the valley. Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, briefed the participants on the sights of Kashmir and Jammu.

Dr. Jyotsna Suri, CMD Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, however, said that although most of Kashmir has tourist attractions, the government needs to further enhance the connectivity and infrastructure at these places.

Adviser Basir Khan said that there is no shortage of tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir and in order to promote tourism, the administration in consultation with the people associated with this sector will add more destinations and facilities for tourists at these destinations.

Union Minister for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel and Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also addressed the event through virtual mode.
