New Delhi:The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday opposed the bail plea of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is accused of a mining scam. Reddy had moved to the court seeking relaxation of his bail conditions and wanted permission to go to his hometown, Ballari where presently his family is staying.
Reddy, had on Thursday argued before the court, that the trial had been going on at a very slow pace and since he has never violated any rules he should be allowed to visit Ballari.
The CBI while strongly opposing his appeal contended that he has been seriously accused in the mining scam and relaxation of the condition would result in result in creating fear in minds of approximately 47 witnesses living in Ballari. CBI further added that Reddy had threatened the witnesses in the past as well.
