Imphal: Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh announced that they have won four out of five Assembly seats in by-elections on Tuesday.
According to the Election Commission of India, Oinam Lukhoi Singh has won from Wangoi, Ginsuanhau from Singhat, Ngamthang Haokip from Saitu and Paonam Brojen Singh from Wangjing Tentha Assembly seats. All these four are Bharatiya Janata Party candidates.
Independent candidate Y. Antas Khan won from Lilong assembly seat.

Hyderabad: BJP has won in the Dubbaka Assembly by-election, informed Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday.
BJP's M Raghunandan Rao defeated TRS' Solipeta Sujatha by 1,470 votes.
BJP secured 62,772 votes, TRS secured 61,302 votes and Congress bagged 21,819 votes.
The vote share of BJP in the by-election was 38.21 per cent as opposed to TRS' 38.08 per cent.

Manipur Bypolls: BJP wins second seat in Manipur by-polls, candidates lead on two others
Imphal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate has been declared winner from the Wangoi seat too, along with Singhat whose results came out earlier in the day, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday.
BJP's Oinam Lukhoi Singh, has been declared the winner from Wangoi seat beating closest rival National People's Party's Khuraijam Loken Singh by a close margin of 257 votes.
Earlier today, BJP's Ginsuanhau had been declared the winner from the Singhat Assembly seat by the ECI.
BJP candidates are also leading on the Wangjing Tentha, and Saitu seats while on the fifth seat, Lilong, independent candidate Y Antas Khan is ahead of another independent candidate Mohammad Abdul Nasir. The BJP had not fielded its candidate on the Lilong seat.
As per the ECI at 1 pm, BJP's vote-share stands at 33.4 per cent, while that of Congress is at 23.7 per cent and NPEP is at 10.8 per cent.

Karnataka bypolls: BJP maintains lead in both seats
Bengaluru: The ruling BJP has continued to maintain its lead over opposition Congress and JD(S) in the bypolls for two assembly constituencies in the state, poll
officials said on Tuesday.
Votes polled in the November 3 byelections to Sira in Tumakuru district and Rajarajeshwari Nagar (R R Nagar) in the city were taken up for counting at 8 am and the results are expected to be out in a few hours from now.
According to the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer's office, the trends show- BJP candidate was ahead with a margin of over 7,800 votes in Sira, while the party has maintained a lead with a margin of over 34,500 votes in RR Nagar.
BJP's Dr C M Rajesh Gowda is leading with 37,808 votes in Sira, followed by Congress' T B Jayachandra with 29,938.

Manipur bypolls: BJP wins one seat, leads in two
BJP candidate Oinam Lukhoi Singh won the by-election to the Wangoi seat in Manipur, while saffron party candidates were leading from two other constituencies and an Independent from one, officials said.
Singh won the Wangoi seat defeating his nearest rival Khuraijam Loken Singh of the National People's Party by 257 votes, as per the ECI website.
BJP candidates Paonam Brojen Singh and Ngamthang Haokip were leading from Wangjing Tentha and Saitu seats by over 1,560 and 2,799 votes.

Haryana: BJP's Yogeshwar Dutt trailing in Baroda bypoll
Chandigarh: BJP candidate and Olympian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt is trailing by a margin of 10,330 votes from the Baroda Assembly seat in Haryana after eleven rounds of counting, as per the Election Commission data.
Congress candidate Indu Raj Narwal has continued to maintain a lead over Dutt, his nearest rival, as per initial trends.
After the completion of eleven rounds of counting, Narwal polled 35,301 votes while Dutt got 24,971 votes.
Indian National Lok Dal nominee Joginder Singh Malik polled 3,548 votes while Loktantra Suarkasha Party candidate Raj Kumar Saini got 3,241 votes.

Gujarat bypolls: BJP ahead in all 8 seats, Congress trails
Ahmedabad:The ruling BJP in Gujarat is leading in all the eight seats while the Congress is trailing behind as counting of votes polled for the Assembly bypolls
progressed on Tuesday.
The gap between the margin of votes polled by candidates of the Congress and the BJP is significant in at least five constituencies - Limbdi, Abdasa, Kaprada, Dang and Karjan.
Jayantilal Patel of Congress, who was leading from Morbi earlier in the day, has fallen behind his BJP rival Brijesh Merja who has taken a lead of over 1,000 votes, as per the Election Commission data.
In seven other seats, the BJP has been maintaining a consistent lead since this morning.

Bhubaneswar: The ruling BJD candidates have established early leads over their nearest BJP rivals in both Balasore and Tirtol assembly constituencies, where

Raipur: The Congress contestant is leading by a margin of 3,664 votes in Marwahi Assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh, where counting of votes is underway.
The seat, reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates, falls in the newly formed Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district.

Lucknow:Initial trends in Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-elections to seven seats showed the BJP leading in four seats while the Samajwadi Party in three as counting got underway.
Early trends showed the BJP leading in Bulandshahr, Ghatampur, Deoria and Bangarmau.
The Samajwadi Party is leading in Amroha while BJP's Sangeeta Chauhan, wife of former minister and cricketer Chetan Chauhan, is trailing.

Hyderabad: BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao was leading over his nearest TRS rival Solipeta Sujatha by 341 votes after the completion of first round in the bypoll to Dubbak Assembly constituency in Telangana on Tuesday.
Raghunandan Rao got 3,208 votes, while Sujatha secured 2,867 votes in the first round.
Congress candidate Cheruku Srinivas Reddy obtained 648 votes.

Gandhinagar:The counting of votes for the eight Assembly seats was underway in Gujarat on Tuesday amid tight security and Covid-19 arrangements.
Initially, postal ballots were being counted and after around one hour the first round of the counting on the EVM machines began.
From the trends of the counting of the postal ballots, the BJP was ahead in Dangs, Morbi, Limdi and Abdasa while Congress was leading in the Dhari constituency.
The counting of votes in Gadhada was reported to be delayed by about an hour.

Counting of votes for Karnataka assembly bypolls begins
Bengaluru: The counting of votes for by-polls to two crucial assembly constituencies in Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) in Bengaluru and Sira in Tumkur District has begun at 8 AM.
The results are expected to be by afternoon.
In the polls held amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Sira and R R Nagar recorded voter turnout of 82.31 per cent and 45.24 per cent respectively.

Chandigarh:The counting of votesfor the bypoll to the Baroda assembly seat in Haryana began on Tuesday.
The counting began at 8 am, officials said. There will be 20 rounds of counting.
Three-tier security has been provided at the counting centre in Mohana, Sonipat, they said.
The polling on November 3 for the Baroda assembly seat had recorded an overall turnout of 68.57 per cent, sealing the fate of 14 candidates.
The Baroda assembly seat fell vacant in April following the death of Congress MLA Shri Krishan Hooda, who had won it thrice consecutively in the 2009, 2014 and 2019 assembly polls.
The Baroda bypoll was seen as a direct contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress.

Kohima: Counting of votes polled in the by-elections to two assembly constituencies in Nagaland began as per schedule at 8 am on Tuesday amidst tight security,

Bypolls 2020: Counting begins for 30 assembly seats in 11 states
Hyderabad: Counting of votes begins on Tuesday in assembly byelection to 30 seats in 10 other states in the first major pan-India electoral exercise amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The counting began at 8 AM, and as per the Election Commission's COVID-19 guidelines, a candidate, his poll agent and counting agent can remain present in the counting hall, officials said, adding various measures have been taken to ensure social distancing and avoid crowding.
In Uttar Pradesh, it will a test of popularity for the Yogi Adityanath government as the BJP, which has a comfortable majority in the Assembly, is contesting on seven seats six of which it had won in the last election while one was with the Samajwadi Party.
Counting of votes will be held in eight seats in Gujarat, four seats in Manipur and one seat in Haryana, all of which were with the Congress; one seat in Chhattisgarh which was with Ajit Jogi's Janata Congress; two seats in Jharkhand which were held by the Congress and its ally JMM; two seats in Karnataka which were with Congress and the JD(S).
Also, votes will be counted in two seats in Nagaland held by NPF and NDPP, one seat in Telangana, which had been won by TRS, and two seats in Odisha held by the BJD and BJP.
Moderate to high turnout was recorded in the byelections held amid extensive precautionary measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Voting in all the seats took place on November 3 except in Manipur, where it was held on November 7.
Besides, counting of votes will be held in Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha seat bypolls in Bihar, where the assembly election results will also be out today.
The byelection had been necessitated due to the death of JD(U) MP Baidyanath Mahto.
UTTAR PRADESH
As many as 88 candidates are contesting in Naugaon Sadat, Tundla, Bangarmau, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Ghatampur and Malhani seats in UP. Barring Malhani, which was with the SP, the other seats were in the ruling BJP's kitty.

Ghatampur bypolls in Kanpur Nagar district was necessitated due to the death of state minister Kamal Rani Varun. Both ministers had died of COVID-19.
Tundla seat fell vacant after its MLA S P Singh Baghel was elected to Lok Sabha, while the Bangarmau seat in Unnao fell vacant after the conviction of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in a rape case.
The BJP had dumped Sengar soon after he was found involved in the rape case.
Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad's rookie Azad Samaj Party has fielded Mohammad Yameen in Bulandshahr to test its electoral popularity.
GUJARAT
A total of 60.75 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the bypolls held in Abdasa (Kutch), Limbdi (Surendranagar), Morbi (Morbi district), Dhari (Amreli), Gadhada (Botad), Karjan (Vadodara), Dang (Dang district) and Kaprada (Valsad).
The counting will be held at eight centres set up in these constituencies.
NAGALAND
The bypolls to two assembly seats - Southern Angami-I in Kohima and Pungro-Kiphire in Kiphire district were necessitated following the deaths of the sitting legislators Vikho-o Yhoshu and T Torechu.
A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place at the two counting centres, officials said.
Ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) nominee Medo Yhokha, opposition NPF's Kikovi Kirha and Independent candidate Seyievilie Peter Zashumo are in the race for the Southern Angami-1 seat.
Five nominees, including Khaseo Anar of the Congress, BJP's Lirimong Sangtam and Independent candidates K Shellumthong, T Yangseo Sangtam and Kiusumew Yimchunger, are in the fray for the Pungro-Kiphire seat
ODISHA
The counting of votes for the Balasore bypolls will be held at the campus of the district collector's office, while in Tirtol, it will be held at the SVM College premises in Jagatsinghpur, Chief Electoral Officer SK Lohani said.
Apart from special barricades, transparent polythene sheets will be placed to effectively maintain social distance. Use of face masks will be mandatory for all counting personnel and agents, Lohani said.
In every table, there will be three counting personnel -- a counting assistant, a supervisor and a micro-observer.
State BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan claimed his party will win both the seats as the voters are "fed up with the ruling BJD".
Senior BJD leader DP Mishra said people in both the constituencies have voted for the state's ruling party as they are keen to see speedy development in their areas.
MANIPUR
Around 91.54 percent of the total 1.35 lakh voters exercised their franchise in by-elections to four assembly seats in Manipur on November 7.
A total of 11 candidates were in the fray in Lilong and Wangjing-Tentha seats in Thoubal district, Saitu in Kangpokpi and Wangoi in Imphal West.
The by-elections were necessitated after Congress MLAs of the four seats resigned from the Assembly and quit the party. They have joined the BJP.
The ruling BJP is contesting in three seats and supporting an independent candidate in Lilong seat, while the opposition Congress is in the fray in all four constituencies.
The Wangoi seat will witness an interesting battle as the National People's Party (NPP), a coalition partner of the BJP-led government in the state, fielded its candidate against the nominees of the Congress and the saffron camp.
CHHATTISGARH
The by-election in Marwahi was necessitated due to the death of sitting Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) MLA and former CM Ajit Jogi in May this year.
The ruling Congress and main opposition BJP in the state are locked in a direct fight.
TELANGANA
The Dubbak Assembly constituency is witnessing a three-cornered contest involving the ruling TRS and opposition BJP and Congress.
The bypolls were necessitated due to the death of sitting TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in August this year. His widow Solipeta Sujatha is the ruling party's choice.
HARYANA
There were 14 candidates, including Olympian wrestler and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Yogeshwar Dutt, in the fray in Baroda seat.
The seat had fallen vacant in April following the death of Krishan Hooda, who had won it consecutively thrice in 2009, 2014 and 2019 assembly polls.
KARNATAKA
The death of Sira JD(S) MLA B Satyanarayana in August and the resignation of RR Nagar Congress MLA Munirathna from the assembly last year led to the bypolls.
JHARKHAND
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's home turf Dumka is seeing a contest between his younger brother Basant Soren and former cabinet minister Lois Marandi of the BJP.
It is expected to be a straight fight between BJP's Yogeshwar Mahato and Anup Singh of the Congress in Bermo seat in Bokaro district.
