Maheshpura (Rajasthan): A major accident took place at Maheshpura near the district headquarters at 10:30 pm last night. In the accident, a bus filled with Jain pilgrims wandered the way and reached the village of Maheshpura. While turning back from there, the bus caught fire due to coming in contact with electric wires.
Six people died while 30 people were injured. After the information of the incident, the injured people were taken to the state hospital with the help of nearby people and ambulances. At the same time, the administrative staff also reached the spot after this accident and started an investigation.
According to the police, the group was split into two buses. During this tour, the driver lost his way and the buses reached towards Maheshpura. During this time the buses entered the village and when the bus driver came to know that he was on the wrong road, they were returning back to the main road. During this time, the conductor climbed on the roof of the bus to negotiate the height of the wires. The bus was touched by electric wires resulting in electrocution and the bus caught fire.
